Today was dentist appointment day - and it was Lillian's first time! We really like the girls' dentist - as well as the staff there - very kid focused and they help keep the girls entertained to keep their mind off the uneasy dentist feelings!
Evelyn, who insisted on wearing her boots, was the hit of the office...
Evelyn getting her teeth cleaned
Time for some x-rays!
Now it's Lillian's turn!
Unlike her sister at this age, this one loves to brush her teeth!
Every time we drive into the driveway, Evelyn asks if she can play a game. What she means is soccer. She loves kicking the ball around in our culdesac. This particular night, it was only 110* out so we opted to let her play for a while!
"This is my soccer ball."
Playing some soccer with Mommy
Love this picture!
Daddy and Lilly cheering us on!
Ugh. Only about 2 more months of crazy hot and mosquitoes, then we can actually be outside for more than 3.7 seconds!
We are nearing the end of "summer" in south Texas. And by that I mean that the city thinks that since it's Labor Day, the pools can't be open any more. This always baffles me as we are still sitting at 100+ degrees and even in Colorado, we would stay open on weekends through September most years. It's dumb, really. But, alas, this was the last weekend our favorite pool in the area was going to be open. We invited Amber (the girls' nanny) and Stephen (her husband) to come with us since the pool is really close to where they live. Here are some pictures of the fun!
I am amazed at how much Evelyn developed her swimming skills over the course of the summer. She went from barely wanting to put her face in the water to diving for sticks on her own (with no goggles because her Mom is a former swimming instructor who hated it when kids were afraid to open their eyes under water...sorry, kid!).
Have I mentioned my love affair with doTERRA essential oils yet? I heart them. A lot. This is just one of many reasons why...
We have a small corner shelf in our living room that has some picture frames on it. One night while I was making dinner, Lillian crawled over to it and pulled one of the frames on top of her head. (Of course, it was the metal one with a pointy corner that gouged right into her head.) :-( I was bleeding pretty bad and immediately was swollen and bruising. I put some helichrysm, frankincense, and lavender on it - cleaned it up - then applied them again several times over the rest of the day. The picture on the right was the next day, about 18 hours later. I couldn't believe it! It was like she just had a little scratch. doTERRA for the win (again)!
Dan has wanted to go camping with Evelyn for a long time. But, being in stupid south Texas, it's like 90+ overnight and who wants to sleep in that (who can sleep in that?!). So we figured out that our tent could barely fit in our living room and set it up in there!
Getting some help from the littles
Spaghetti dinner before movie and camping
"Mom - I'm messy, too!"
Reading some books before bedtime
Night night!
OK, Mom..enough with the pictures...
Lilly wanted in on the fun in the morning!
They had so much fun they did it again on Saturday night. Someday we'll get to where we can actually go camping and not sweat all night...or have rattlesnakes outside our tent!
Is in between size 6 and 7 shoes (depends on the shoe)
This picture shows February 1st (about a week after we started therapy), July 1, and today
This picture is what is really crazy to me...
My thumb is July of 2013, my index finger is when we started GHT, and my middle finger is today.
In just over 6 months of GHT, she has grown 3.75 inches, gained 4.2 pounds, and moved from size 4 to (almost) size 7 shoes. I know she's growing, but this is just crazy! Sometimes I sit and look at her on our video monitor and can't believe how long her legs are. Sigh. So happy that she is growing, but it makes me want to bawl!
Sometimes you just need to wear your rain boots and use your umbrella in your pjs
This one is a fan of Mommy's water bottle
Looking for decorations for Lillian's birthday party
I think this was her first experience with mannequins
She loved the dog
Learning how to say, "Touchdown Broncos!"
This morning's fun was dragging all of the shoes out of the shoe bins and covering ourselves up with them
Cute little crawler
I can't believe how much she looks like Dan in this picture!
Hanging with Daddy
Just another bedtime in the Gaines house
Playing dress up
I love Sid.
Little munchkin...big belly
Someone's tired
Evelyn at dance
Just playing with some magnets
"This is my bed" (aka, Dan's winter clothes that he hasn't used in 7 years...sad.)
Sometimes it's fun to sit in a laundry basket
"I can wash my hands myself" (naked, apparently, is the best way to handle this)
Someone figured out how to get up on the stairs...
Visiting Daddy at his office
Hi, Mom - I'm in here (and broke the cabinet, apparently)
Marching in her new boots
Lillian showing us some dance moves
(Evelyn had just been showing us how she is a ballerina)
Little jumper
Sweet LillyBelle
Cheeseball
I came around the corner to meet her as she woke up one morning, and saw this...
"Hi Mom. Because it's too bright in my room"
Seriously, this kid can eat. This particular night at Olive Garden, she ate 2 vegetable packs, a string cheese, and some diced turkey...then polished off a breadstick and half of Evelyn's spaghetti.
Singing songs and dancing at Storytime
And we've mastered the stairs
Pulling up on everything now!
Racing down the slide
Evelyn's new game for outside...swinging on the crossbar. She told Dan, "this is tricky!"
