A Day at Camp

Amber (our nanny) helps to direct a number of kids camps at a church camp that is near Corpus - it's why we lose her for a few weeks every summer!  She invited Evelyn to spend a day with her at camp this week.  Lillian had her well-check appointment scheduled for the same day, so I decided it was a great idea!
The night before, I told her she was going to go to camp with Amber and we packed her bag!
We met Amber about halfway between Zephyr (camp) and our house.  From there Lilly and I went to run errands and Amber and Evelyn headed to camp.
She had lunch with the kids in the dining hall
And found Steve (Amber's husband, who was one of the sponsors with the kids from their church)
She got to ride with Amber on the golf cart everywhere
(which, I hear, was one of her favorite things!)
She got to play on the inflatables
(Amber said others were worried about Evelyn doing this on her own - then she owned this - that's our girl!)
Amber recruited one of their youth to follow Evelyn and video through the inflatable obstacle course
She got to play basketball in the gym!
And swim in the pool
And get her hair done by the girls
And color in the office while Amber worked...I hear there was some Frozen watching for a little while as well!
After Lillian's appointment, she and I drove up to Zephyr to pick Evelyn up.
This happened about 2.67 seconds after we left...a tired little girl after a busy day at camp (with no nap!)
We got into town about 30 minutes after normal dinner time, so I ran through McDonalds to cap off the fun-filled day.
Little Miss Sass
She was still so tired, she kept resting on her hand while she ate!
She had such a fun time!  Amber, thanks for inviting her up there - I know it's a memory that she will cherish with you!  We're so thankful for the Kingdom work you are doing at Zephyr (but we're glad to have you back with us, too!) :-)

One Year Well-Check

While Evelyn was at camp, Lillian and I had a Mommy-Lilly day.  After we dropped Evelyn off, we went to the mall to run some errands that were much easier to run with one kid instead of two!  The entire day was all moving toward her well-check that afternoon...with shots...so we went to Corner Bakery for some of her favorite - mac-n-cheese for lunch!
Mmmmmm...
She loved the paper on the table

She has leveled off a little on her growing, but is still doing great!  Here are her ONE YEAR stats:

Weight: 23 pounds, 5 ounces (up 1 pounds, 7 ounces from 9 months) - 89th percentile
Height: 31 inches (up 1.25 inches from 9 months) - 94th percentile
Head Circumference: 47.5 cm (up .5 cm from 9 months) - 96th percentile

Last Day of Summer Dance

A video from Evelyn's last day of dance this summer.  It's so much fun to see how much she learned and how far she has come in just 5-6 classes!
She'll start up again at the end of August.  In the meantime, we downloaded some of the Tippi Toes songs so she can do the dances at home!  She now requests which ones she wants!

Our New Ride

We got out the quad for Lilly to try out since she got a new bike helmet for her birthday.  She loved it!  She's not quite steady enough to push the button and go on her own, but she squealed every time Daddy pushed the button to make it go!
Are you guys back there?
Going for a bike ride while we wait for Grammie & Grandad to get back from church to unveil their new ride...
My Mom and Dad got the girls a new jeep.  For the first day, they just climbed on it inside the house and had no idea it actually went places!
I love Lillian's face and death grip here...this was after the first jolt of Evelyn pushing the gas pedal.
Evelyn just told her, "It's ok...it's ok..." (oh dear...)
Evelyn was doing the spurt drive...push the gas, stop, push the gas, stop.  They had gone about 2 feet here.
Starting to get the hang of it!

And we threw a sticker from our church on the back...gotta represent!

Splash into ONE!

We did a "Splash into ONE!" party for Lillian's first birthday party.  I figured it was going to be insanely hot, and I didn't really want to have to clean my house - twice - so a morning swimming party it was!  We set up 2 pools, a sprinkler, and all of their outside toys around the back yard and started at 10am.  For the first hour, it wasn't too bad - but around 11:15, the melting feeling started to set in!  Ugh...have I mentioned how much I hate Texas and the heat?!
I did cupcakes and a small cake for a smash cake.
I loved this cake - I thought they did such a great job!
Lots of pictures...such a fun party!
Amber and Lillian!

Every birthday girl needs a crown and a Grandad to sit in her pool with

Cake time - let the fun begin!

Grandad helping her get going!

And...it's in my eyes...

This is my absolute favorite Lilly smile - it's the smile she gives when she is either cheesing or completely excited about something.  Love, love, love this picture!

And...let's wash you off in the pool!

Time for presents!
The Olaf towel was her favorite!
Enjoying some lollipops after cupcakes
(sugar 'em up and send 'em home!)
Grammie and Lilly
Sure, kid, it's 105* out - but wrap yourself up in a fleece blanket and eat your lollipop!
Opening gifts from Grammie & Grandad

It was a great party and so much fun to watch her interact with the other kids!  Evelyn had a blast, too...who doesn't love a sugar overload coupled with running around in your swim suit for 2 hours??!  Happy birthday, sweet girl!  (and now your birthday week is officially over...)

{Thanks to my Mom and Amber for the great pictures...I only took about 3 of these!}
