Two Month Appointment

Evelyn had her two month appointment a little late this month because her pediatrician was on vacation when she turned two months.  Other than the onslaught of vaccinations she had to have, it went well.  Her pediatrician recommended a new gripe water and started her on probiotics in an effort to curtail the gas she has been having.  Over the last 3-4 weeks, she usually has 3-4 spells a day where she is scream-crying while passing really loud (and really smelly) gas.  As soon as she gets it all out, she's as happy as can be!  I went off dairy for a while, and that didn't help.  Her pediatrician said it is likely not any kind of food sensitivity or food allergy, because we haven't been able to link it to any particular food that triggers it (dairy was the only thing I consistently had...).  Hopefully these new steps will help!  I hate watching her be in pain!

Her 2 month statistics:
Weight: 10 pounds, 1 ounce (1 pound, 4 ounces since 1 month) - 45th percentile
Length: 21 inches (1/2 inch since 1 month) - 5th percentile
Head Circumference: 39 cm (3cm since 2 wks) - 50th percentile

With that height, I'm going to go out on a limb and say she's not going to be the basketball star her Daddy and Uncle Mike are hoping for...unless she's playing point guard!

  1. E can be the point guard and G will be the center...she's over 90% percentile in all categories. Oy!

  2. That is really weird about the gas and gripe water thing. My friend Jennifer, she had her little boy 2 days before E was born, her little guy has the same issue with gas. She tried to change her diet too and a friend recommended gripe water to her. In all my experience with my own kids and with friends kids, and nieces and nephews, I had never even heard of the gripe water stuff. If it works go for it. You hate to see them struggle and not feel good.

  3. I'm not sure you'll think this is as funny as I did (Jay thinks only I think I'm funny, which might be true), but I was trying to think of some words of wisdom for Evelyn's gas problem. All that popped into my head was, "this too shall pass." Get it? Pass gas! Yeah, maybe Jay's right... Love you guys! Thanks for all the updated pictures. :-)
